The Incident

First text that something has been done in the garage: 9 / 1 / 2014 8:10 pm

First text that something couldn’t be wiped away 9 / 1 / 2014 9:24 pm (over an hour later)

First time I saw the care and pulled it out of the garage: 9 / 1 / 2014 9:31 pm – Minutes later

Obvious signs that they tried to wipe away the dust and realized after an hour that it wasn’t going to happen. Anyone know what sheetrock dust does when you wipe a car with it? Nothing good.

My first question, how could this happen? I’m home right, we text back and forth all the time… still, I never received an answer to that – unless you say “I’m an asshole lol” is an actual response.

Here is where it goes down hill quickly. As I remain calm, Sergio comes down from his apartment and is pissed. Visibly he is irritated and he is not communicating, he is on a mission.

He goes to grab a hose to use water to wash away the dust. I ask him not to. Repeatedly but he doesn’t listen. Numerous times. Any interaction is met with a raised voice where he goes into “After all I’ve done for you and your family.” “And I don’t even make you pay for the landscaper.” Are you kidding me? I never asked for a landscaper and personally enjoyed mowing the lawn.

When he was done with the care he moved onto the table. Again, I asked him not to. NUMEROUS times but he wouldn’t listen. I don’t know what he did to the table but days later I would find him messing with it again…. so he says “Car cleaned and table polished”. Polished w/what? Car cleaned with water?

I was in shock by this entire exchange and keeping calm the entire time. I realized quickly that you can’t reason with a crazy person. Crazy enough to have zero regard for your belongings and then to go off on the victim that they should cut you slack for reasons you don’t agree with.

So he again comes back with not asking me for money? WTF? Um, if I want a Pony and buy it myself I don’t win arguments with people around me by telling them I didn’t ask them for money. I find this behavior completely irrational and out of touch – enough so that my only recourse is to try and calm him down.

At this point in time he has shown no regard for my personal belongings, then tried to cover it up, when I ask him why he did this he’s argued that he hasn’t asked me for money (?????), when I tell him to stop touching my personal belonging he doesn’t listen, and now I’m back in my apartment getting for text from what I consider a mad man right now.

Wash, rinse, repeat “Man of my word.” He also said he would have finished the garage without and help which is why I said he should do it if he wants to.

I can’t tell but this looks like a way for a guy to indirectly say, “You know this only gets worse.” Alpha male BS, which having grown up playing sports and living in a University District for 4 years makes me not surprised how angry he was when his path was disrupted for a few hours.

After our last exchange Janine told me she didn’t want me talking to him. But below I mention his car window is down cause I’m still nice to assholes.

The last text I ever received from him was “Ur gf home”. I don’t know what that meant. I think there was a call after that but no message. I’m weirded out by this dude so I keep my car out of the garage for more than a month.

More than a month.

More than a month. Why? because he needed some time to do whatever and I didn’t want him messing with my car again.  Foolish me.

10 / 5 / 2014 11am~ish

I decide I’m going to clean the garage. I wipe as much as I can down until Janine calls me in for lunch. Actually she called and I continued to work because I rarely have time to be in the garage these days. When I get inside the food is cold and everyone else has finished eating. Typical house/baby/family stuff ensues until I get a call from Sergio at 2pm.

The call lasts 2 minutes with an introduction like. “I’m going to Home Depot to by some paint. You want me to pick you up some so you can paint your side?”

uhhhhh no. It’s frickn’ October and I’m still cleaning your dust and paint of my belongings. “No man, I’m not painting.”

Which leads directly into him saying “You can’t block the door”.

Me: “I’m not blocking the door.” We go back in forth on the same point which I start to reply, “I don’t tell you what to do with your side. Oh and BTW, since I have you on the phone, what happened to the shop vac?”

Serg: “It’s in the attic”

Me: “Then get it down because I want to use it”

Serg:”I CAN’T BECAUSE YOUR STUFF IS IN THE WAY”

Me: “That’s wild” – Here I’m shocked that I’m missing stuff and an item that was in the garage just a week earlier is now in the attic?

He repeats that I can’t block the door, I insist I’m not blocking the door. He asks me if I’m playing some game and if I’m a Jerk off. Then exclaims he’s going to call the landlord. I hang up.

Dylan has swimming and I need to watch the baby. By 5pm the EMPTY boxes were moved.

Midday on a Sunday.

20141008_011748252_iOS_s

By Monday I was on a call with the Landlord who said Sergio had a complaint. I was taken back that, maybe moreso of how rediculous this had gotten.

This following week was pretty crappy.

Everything increased; noise, smoking cigars around the windows, slamming doors, alarms at 6:40am, leaving the garage door open when he left the premises.

The day after the call was a special day. A cleaning lady double-parks in Janine’s parking spot and leaves her car there till almost 2 in the afternoon. That evening, Sergio comes home, opens the garage, switches cars and leaves with the garage door open. Why?

Janine calls him to let him know that we would appreciate if he wouldn’t leave the garage door open. He responds with something to the effect of “What is your schedule?” Why?
